An example of prehistoric pottery in Iran. Tepe Sialk in Susa. Tepe Sialk is best known for its colourful and illustrated pottery. These stunning vases are generally found on the inside of the cemeteries. The decoration of these dishes is either geometric or figurative or a combination of both. The sources of the colours are mineral and consist of gray, milky or red colours. The use of abbreviated animal and human motifs combined with geometric motifs is surprisingly noticeable in these dishes. The unique design of the body of these dishes with long tubes is another feature of this pottery.
